Phobias and Fears
Phobias are extremely common and are closely related to anxiety. It is often a mystery why you have the symptoms and how you can overcome them. This can give you helpless feeling that is very distressing and can make it incredibly difficult for you to manage your symptoms. This lack of control is the most distressing part of having a phobia.
You can develop a phobic response to almost any situation. One of the most common phobias is Emetophobia - the fear of being sick. Like all phobias, it is formed due to the way your mind has responded in the past to certain situations. It then creates connections that continue to affect your reactions.
Hypnotherapy can be very effective in the treatment of phobias. But the best thing you can do is to gain a real understanding of what the phobia actually is, where it comes from, why you are getting it, and, most importantly, how to get rid if it.
